Bus connection airport – Girona train station
The easiest and cheapest way to get from the airport to Girona train station is by bus. Bus number 607 goes directly from the airport to the train station. The trip takes about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
Bus timetable: Buses run hourly between 4.30am and 0.30am. Depending on the arrival time of your flight, you may have to wait longer at the airport. This should be taken into account when planning your trip to Barcelona and when buying your tickets!

What kind of train connections are there from Girona to Barcelona?
There are several train lines between Girona and Barcelona, operated by the Spanish railway company Renfe. The fastest connection is the Spanish high speed train AVE. It takes about 40 minutes to get from Girona to Barcelona. Trains run several times a day. The final stop in Barcelona is Barcelona-Sants station, the city’s relatively centrally located main train station. From there, there are very good public transportation connections (metro, bus, …).
In addition to the AVE, there are other trains on this line, such as regional and suburban trains. These trains are slower and stop more often. They take between 1:30 and 2 hours to cover the distance. The terminus in Barcelona is also Barcelona-Sants Central Station. Other stops in and around Barcelona are Granollers, Sant Andreu, El Clot and Passeig de Gracia, depending on the connection.

AVE ticket prices vary depending on the time of booking and availability. A standard ticket usually costs between 16 and 25 euros.
ATTENTION: Seat reservations are mandatory on high-speed trains. It is therefore advisable to book online as far in advance as possible to ensure a seat on the train of your choice.
Tickets for regional trains cannot be purchased online. They can be purchased at ticket machines (see photo) or at ticket counters. Don’t forget to plan for queues!
